Mother's Day Poems

When My Mother Cries

My mother cries,
and rivulets of abandonment
trickle down her cheeks
into streams of loneliness.
     (Her tears are bitter)

She cries,
and tributaries of anger
flow into rivers of pain.
     (They sting my wounds)

My mother cries,
and I struggle to keep swimming
through her oceans of despair.
