When in the course of human events it becomes necessary for a people to tell another people to bugger off and let my people be, it behooves the people to tell that people that in dignified and elevated language, to impress the bejeezus out of their decendants.
This is not that telling.
What this is, is the reminder. This is the reminder that you done already been told. You already told yourselves. You told about everybody being human, and you told about everybody being equal, and you told about everybody being endowed by their Creator with rights.
And you have tried to tell your Creator, "I gave them the right to life! I said that they could go out in the dark and the cold and the wet and the violent, and as long as they didn't put up any tents or lay out where tourists could see them, they could live as long as they want to!"
And you have tried to tell your Creator, "I gave them the right to liberty! I told them that Ias long as they stayed out of the parks and didn't sit on the sidewalks and didn't try to visit the restrooms in the stores where they couldn't buy anything and didn't bunch up together, they had all the liberty they could use!"
And you have tried to tell your creator, "I gave them the right to pursue happiness! Nobody said they had the right to catch any!"
And this is the reminder that you can fool some of the people whenever The Price Is Right is on, and you can fool all of the people whenever you use the Internet, but you can't fool anybody when your own guts know you lie, because you're human and so am I and it's time to do it right.
